1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Crossi ("App") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the App. The App is operated by Yasir Mohiuddin ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the App, you agree to this policy.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information: If you sign in with Apple, we receive an identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email. This is processed by our authentication provider (Supabase) to create and manage your account. You may also use the App with an anonymous account created during onboarding.
- Photo library (location metadata only): If you grant permission, we read location and timestamp metadata embedded in your photos to discover where you have been. We do not upload, store, or access the photos or images themselves.
- Location and crossing data: Coordinates, timestamps, geohash, and city names derived from your photo metadata may be stored on our servers to power your map, sync across sessions, and compute crossings with friends you connect with in the App.
- Profile and preferences: Information you provide in the App (e.g. display name, profile emoji, invite code, notification preferences) may be stored on your device and, if you have an account, on our servers.
- Connections: When you share or enter an invite code, we store connection data so the App can show shared crossings between you and that friend.
- Push notifications: If you allow notifications, we may store a device push token so we can send you alerts (for example when you cross paths with someone).
- Onboarding and usage analytics: We use Mixpanel to collect product analytics (e.g. onboarding steps completed, answers you select in onboarding flows, paywall events). Onboarding answers are generally held in memory during the session and may be sent to Mixpanel; they are not all stored permanently on our servers unless described elsewhere in this policy.
- Subscription and purchase data: To manage in-app subscriptions we use RevenueCat and Superwall. They may collect device and purchase-related information in accordance with their privacy policies.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to provide the App (maps, location history, friend connections, crossing detection, notifications), to manage your account and preferences, to process subscriptions, to improve the App, and to send optional push notifications you have enabled. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Data Storage and Third‑Party Services
